The Myohyangsan pine tree is the one in the front yard of Sangwon Hermitage in Mt Myohyang, which is 600 metres above sea level.
Growing alongside other trees around it, the typical red pine adds beauty to Sangwon Hermitage.
Planted in around 1410, the tree is 15.3 metres tall and 3.7 metres round at the root neck. The crown is 13.8 metres wide.
The bark of the tree is reddish, looking different from other pines.
