Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov denounced the expansion of NATO in his speech at the UN General Assembly on September 27. Saying that Europe has already become too small for NATO, he asserted that it is infiltrating into the Pacific region, while posing a threat to not only Russia and China but also other nations in the region. It is a new stage of its expansion, he revealed. NATO is justifying its assertion that “the security of the Euro-Atlantic region and that of the Indo-Pacific region are inseparable” and under such a pretext it is trying to bring the whole Eurasian region into a ring of war, he decried. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper.
