Venezuela deploys armed forces in border areas against US threat of invasion

Venezuela is making full preparations to defend the country from the growing threat of aggression by the US. The Venezuelan president recently said through a state-run TV station that army troops, police and civil defence forces would be deployed in more than 280 areas of the country. He said that his country is ready for an armed conflict, noting that full preparedness has been maintained in the border areas including all the coastlines of Venezuela. The US is deploying many warships and troops in the surrounding waters of Venezuela on the pretext of an “anti-drug campaign”, inciting military threat to the country.
