AFC Coach of Year (Men) and AFC Youth Player of Year (Women) awarded to DPRK coach and player

DPRK coach Ri Song Ho and DPRK player Choe Il Son were awarded the AFC Coach of the Year (Men) and the AFC Youth Player of the Year (Women) respectively at the AFC Awards Riyadh 2025 held in Saudi Arabia. Ri Song Ho led the women's soccer team of the DPRK at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup to take the first place. He was awarded the AFC Coach of the Year (Men) in the DPRK for the third time following coach Choe Kwang Sok (2006) and coach Kim Kwang Min (2008). Choe Il Son contributed to making the DPRK team win the World Cup by displaying her high physical and technical and goaling abilities at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
