A women's football match took place between the April 25 and Pyongyang teams at Kim Il Sung Stadium on September 8 on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the DPRK. Among the spectators were Pak Thae Song and Choe Ryong Hae, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, other senior Party, government and military officials, members of the National Sports Guidance Committee, leading officials of sports events supporting organizations, labour innovators and persons of distinguished services who were invited to the celebrations of the 77th founding anniversary of the DPRK, officials of ministries and national agencies and Pyongyangites. A player of the April 25 Team scored a goal with a header in around sixth minute of the stoppage-time of the second half to beat its opponent. The women's football match between the April 25 Team and Pyongyang Team revved up the festive mood of the September holiday. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper.
