The 15th National Basketball Tournament of Agricultural Workers took place at the Basketball Gymnasium on Chongchun Street in Pyongyang from August 1 to 6. Twenty-four men’s and women’s teams selected from Pyongyang and all provinces played group league matches, divided into four groups respectively, and the winners of each group played knock-out matches. The men’s team of South Hamgyong Province (Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm) and the women’s team of North Phyongan Province (Naejung Farm in Yomju County) won the first place at the finals held on August 6. Citations, cups and medals were awarded to the units and players who proved successful. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper.
