Representatives of international democratic organizations leave Pyongyang

Goncalo Lopes, president of the World Federation of Democratic Youth, and his party, Lorena Pena, chairwoman of the Women's International Democratic Federation, and her party and Swadesh Dev Roye, deputy general secretary of the World Federation of Trade Unions, left Pyongyang on October 14 after taking part in the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. They were seen off at Pyongyang International Airport by Kim Song Il, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, Ri Hae Im, vice-chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea, and Kim Song Ho, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, respectively. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
