Modern houses were built at the Sangphyong Stockbreeding Farm in Kim Chaek City, North Hamgyong Province. The cosy houses suited to the characteristics of mountainous areas showcase the rapid speed of rural development. A ceremony of moving into new houses was held on the spot. Present there were officials of the Party and power organs in North Hamgyong Province and Kim Chaek City, builders and agricultural workers who would move into the houses. An address was made at the ceremony and licences for the use of houses were handed over to be followed by speeches. When moving into new houses began, there were cheerful dance parties in the villages and officials visited the owners of new houses to share joy with them, giving them daily necessities. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
