The National Founding Day was commemorated with due ceremony at the Mausoleum of King Tangun on October 3.
Present there were Kang Yun Sok, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, officials concerned, officials of the National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and working people in Pyongyang.
Also present there were overseas compatriots staying in the homeland.
First, there was a memorial service for Tangun.
Then Hwang Kwang Il, director of the National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, made a report.
The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
