New Scenery of Scientists Residential District
In June, 2014, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un inspected the Wisong Scientists Residential District under construction.
While making rounds of the dwelling quarters, he underlined the need to make an effective use of the plottage in arranging dwelling houses and then referred to the plan for laying out parks and green areas between dwelling houses and public buildings.
He noted that, in conformity with the characteristics of the dwelling quarters situated in the suburbs of Pyongyang, vegetable gardens and small greenhouses could be arranged between dwelling houses and that, if so, the scientists and technicians would be more pleased.
Listening to him, the officials reproached themselves for failing to take a deep consideration of the living convenience of scientists, only thinking that parks and green areas are a must to the modern dwelling quarters.
That day, the respected General Secretary taught attentively to lay out the dwelling houses and the surroundings well so that scientists would feel no inconvenience in life.
That’s how vegetable gardens and greenhouses were placed instead of parks and green areas in the dwelling quarters.
Indeed, it was a new scenery provided by the noble intention of the respected General Secretary who regards the interests and convenience of scientists and technicians as more important than anything.
Not Missing Little Sound of Wind
In March, 2017, the respected General Secretary looked round the 70-storey apartment building under construction in Ryomyong Street.
He was going down to the first floor by elevator after going the rounds of flats on the seventh and fifty-eighth floors for a long time, when he turned his eyes to the wall of the elevator all of a sudden.
The accompanying officials got puzzled.
Looking around them, the respected General Secretary said that negative pressure seemed to act upon the channel of the elevator because he could hear the wind whenever the elevator went up or down.
He continued that making air holes at certain intervals in the channel would help.
The officials were so surprised as no one ever paid attention to the faint sound of the wind although they had installed the elevator beforehand and already tested it for hundreds of times.
As he regards everything for the people as important and demands that every creation to be provided to the people by the Party must be perfect and flawless, the respected General Secretary took even the sound of wind everyone else had neglected as serious.
The elevator of the skyscraper still tells us how the architectural structures appearing on this land are made flawless creations for the good of the people.
Construction Plan He Made in Bold Way
The respected General Secretary visited a fishery station in December, 2016, despite the cold weather in midwinter.
Having a bird’s-eye view of the modernly-built station with great satisfaction, he asked an official if the dwelling houses for its fishers were built.
Being told that as the new houses were not built, the fishers were still living in the existing ones, he said that what weighed on his mind most was that they failed to build the dwelling houses for the employees when remodeling the fishery station.
And he added that it would be good in many ways to build the dwelling houses around the station in the form of apartment house in the future.
Then he stressed that the Party would build the dwelling houses for the employees of the station on its own responsibility.
The moment the officials were filled with great emotion.
The officials seemed to hear the whistle of the fully loaded ship which would resound higher in the seas of the country by the fishermen with the single mind to repay the warm love of the respected General Secretary with greater success in fishing.
