National Instrument OkryugumOkryugum is a national instrument developed in the era of the Workers’ Party thanks to the idea and scrupulous leadership of Chairman Kim Jong Il.In the early １９７０s, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited a national orchestra and enjoyed a newly arranged folk song and then stressed the need to make a new national instrument which would replace Wakonghu (an instrument of ancient Korea). He gave the orientation and way for manufacturing the instrument.When the new instrument was completed he personally named it "Okryugum".Okryugum has a sound box and legs.
